The ancient civilization of Anatolia was located in our region around 2000 B.C., representing the cultural and lingual roots of Hitit civilization. Within the Hittit Empire, Luwians are the first people to generate written archives in Anatolia. Luwian is, like Hittite, a member of the Anatolian branch of the Indo-European language family. These days we still can find lingvistic traces as the turkish word "alev" (light, fire) or the french "lumiere" (light) which are considered to originate from the luwian language.
